Filter vendors, and what the fields mean

Narrow the vendor list by therapeutic area, countries served, start-up time and more, and see what each filter field means.

Filters sit beside the results on Service Providers. On a phone, choose Filters to show them.

How filters work

  • Ticking a box or choosing an option applies it straight away. Number boxes apply when you press Enter or leave the box.
  • Each option shows how many vendors it would give, with your other filters applied. Options with no matches are greyed out, not hidden.
  • Ticking several options in one filter matches vendors with any of them. Countries served can also match all of them (see below).
  • A vendor that hasn't answered a field never matches a filter on that field.

Each filter in use appears as a chip above the results. Select a chip to remove it, or choose Clear all.

The fields every vendor has

  • Therapeutic areas: the areas the vendor works in.
  • Countries served: where the vendor can work. Choose Any of these to match vendors serving at least one of your countries, or All of these to match only vendors serving every one. Region buttons, such as + Western Europe, add all of that region's countries at once.
  • Contract to activation: the vendor's typical time, in days, from a signed contract until it's operational on a study. Enter a number under At most.
  • Can start under a Start-Up Work Order (SUWO): whether the vendor can begin work before the full contract is signed. Choose Any, Yes or No.
  • Company size: the vendor's headcount band.

Fields for one vendor type

Choose a type, such as CRO, and a section named after it (for example CRO details) appears below the common filters. It holds that type's own fields. Number fields there have both At least and At most.

Switching to another type keeps the common filters and drops the previous type's own filters.

On full listings, vendors fill in these fields themselves, and our team reviews each dashboard before it's published.

Take filters into Compare

If you filter by country and then compare vendors, the comparison shows how many of your countries each vendor serves. See Compare vendors.
